The Use of Art in the Psychedelic Space
with Marcela Ot'alora G., MA, LPC
There are times during a psychedelic session and even during integration that clients find they are not able to describe in words what is taking place, or there is not a story attached with the feelings that emerge. Among its many uses, art can be a valuable tool to support a client’s expression when words are not enough or hard to find. Art can also be used as a form of connection between facilitator and client. In this one-day course you will learn about supplies to have in your treatment space, helpful art exercises and how to talk to your clients about art as a tool for personal expression in a way that eases their mind and addresses intimidation that often comes with making art if you are not an artist. This is also true for the facilitator. Being an artist or being knowledgeable about art expression is not a pre-requisite for this course, willingness to have fun, explore, be curious, and get paint on your hands is.

Psychedelics “in the Wild”: Navigating Personal Use from a Harm Reduction Lens
with Sara Gael
While psychedelics show great promise in mental health care, they also pose real risks—particularly in unsupervised or informal settings. As use expands across social, community, and ceremonial contexts, practitioners must be equipped to support clients in navigating these experiences safely and responsibly. This course offers practical tools for engaging clients in open, informed conversations about psychedelic use, helping them explore potential benefits and risks, prepare with clear intentions, and create supportive containers for their experiences. Participants will deepen their knowledge of harm reduction approaches, learn strategies for working with challenging experiences, and explore how to foster meaningful integration and community support.

Psilocybin Under the Stars: Incorporating Astrology in Facilitation
with Diana Quinn, ND
Dr. Stanislav Grof identified astrology as the “Rosetta Stone” of working with expanded states of consciousness. Join us to explore incorporating knowledge of the stars in your Natural Medicine practice.
Join us to study astrology as a component of set and setting, both in terms of incorporating client natal charts in preparation and integration, electing timing of administration sessions, understanding planetary transits and the “astro weather,” and facilitator-client synastry. This course provides beginners with a basic working knowledge of the components of Western astrology (zodiac, planets, houses), which will draw from traditional Hellenistic and archetypal astrology, as well as more advanced timing techniques for experienced astrologers.

Psychedelic Playlist Workshop
with Sara Lewis, PhD, LCSW
This experiential workshop is suitable for therapists, coaches, and facilitators wanting to deepen their understanding of the use of music in psychedelic sessions. Participants will come out of the training with a playlist in hand that is made as a part of the training with the opportunity to share across the group. This workshop considers how music, what has been called, “the second therapist” or the “hidden therapist,” in the room, is an ethical consideration within your practice. The course explores cultural appropriation vs appreciation, how to choose music for different medicines, and how to honor the wisdom of clients in what will support their work.

Training Philosophy
Our training program exemplifies the contemplative traditions of Naropa University combined with the clinical expertise of internationally recognized trauma researchers and trainers. Memoru Center for Visionary Healing Arts is grounded in a social justice framework, an approach that centers the experience of those most impacted by structural oppression. This model seeks to demystify healing by empowering community members to engage in harm reduction and community care.
Our training philosophy centers Indigenous lineage carriers and demonstrates the importance of reciprocity with traditional stewards of ceremonial and entheogenic technologies. Our training is rooted in respect for the sovereignty of the client, facilitator, lineage, and the medicines, themselves.
Memoru Center for Visionary Healing Arts anchors our trainings in these ideologies in recognition that the state regulatory model of psilocybin facilitation aims to increase access to natural medicine healing modalities, from which traditional communities have been disenfranchised through colonial suppression and the War on Drugs. We recognize that limitations to access and injustice persist within existing frameworks, and we strive to dismantle barriers to access, particularly for underserved communities.
Colorado’s regulatory model offers a tiered approach to training and licensure, with a tier for DORA licensed clinical providers to practice under the scope of their training in the provision of psilocybin services. A second tier confers licensing for eligible adults who have completed state-approved psilocybin facilitator training.
Where Can Psilocybin Facilitators Practice?
Psilocybin facilitation under the state regulatory adult use model is an emergent and evolving field. Memoru Center for Visionary Healing Arts’ certificate program is designed to prepare facilitators for licensure in Colorado and we remain open to complying with additional state models in the future. Because regulations vary state by state, additional training may be required for credentialing depending on the legal context of the facilitator’s intended practice location. The future trajectory and guidelines for psilocybin facilitation vary by region, regulatory agency, and protocol, and are subject to changes in federal, state, and local guidelines.

Psilocybin Facilitator Training
Memoru Center for Visionary Healing Arts is one of the first state-approved providers of psilocybin facilitator training in Colorado, preparing practitioners for licensure under the state’s Natural Medicine Health Act.
